“Europe is at a turning point,” she opened her presentation. “Not only security and defense policy, but also energy and economic policy are facing new challenges – and thus new responsibilities.” As Europeans, we have a duty to learn again to stand up for our values, to be prepared against military threats and to assert our interests in the world, Ms. Hamker continued.
Companies and entrepreneurs in particular are now called upon to play an active political role – e.g. in the Economic Council and similar business-related political organizations – so that the right decisions can be made in Germany, but also in the EU, in order to move successfully into the future and hopefully with fewer political conflicts.
Despite the current challenges and the terrible humanitarian catastrophe of the war in Ukraine, Ms. Hamker concluded her presentation with the plea “We can do it!”. The German economy has proven time and again that it has a high level of resilience in crisis situations” and encouraged the guests, as top decision-makers, to become more politically involved in order to not only leave the shaping of the future to the politicians and the often too cumbersome bureaucracy.
The inspiring event was rounded off by Markus Bischoff’s exquisite cuisine and the first asparagus of the season at the DEKRA Bischoff Club Restaurant in Stuttgart-Vaihingen.
We would also like to express our sincere thanks for all the donations received for our TRANSEARCH heart project, the TRANSEARCH KinderHilfe Foundation, during the event. Due to the terrible war circumstances in Ukraine we decided to help the children there very quickly and bring the donations with the help of our partner ChildFund Germany directly on site to concrete projects. Here you can find out how ChildFund Germany is helping the children in Ukraine.
Here you can see for yourself what you can do with your donation!
