The construction of our new school in Zambia is progressing in leaps and bounds.

The TRANSEARCH ChildFund Foundation team is delighted – as are the local children – with each step forward in the construction.

In the next five to seven years, we would like to setup another large school complex in the cotton-growing area of Katete in Zambia. As with our last Zambia project, it is important that we install not only the school buildings, but housing for staff, and medical care facilities for the community as well.

Besides education, preventive health care and medical care are essentials. Therefore, in our first project in Namununga, Zambia, we also prioritised the construction of a hospital.

For both pupils and the local community, this means:

• Pregnant women and the parents of the pupils have a shorter route to the new Health Clinic, meaning that pupils recover more quickly from illness and injury, and can return to lessons much sooner.
